James Gunn and John Cena’s Peacemaker series adds new DC characters

November 19th, 2020 by Marc Comments

It looks like James Gunn’s Peacemaker series, starring John Cena in the role he plays in Gunn’s upcoming The Suicide Squad, has added some more big names to its cast list.

Warner Brothers has announced new cast members joining the series including Chris Conrad as Vigilante – a Punisher-like sharpshooter who turns to brutal crimefighting after his wife and children are murdered – who will be nothing like the character who was in Arrow a couple of seasons back.

Next up, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, the same NSA agent she’ll portray in The Suicide Squad.

Orange Is the New Black’s Danielle Brooks will play Leota Adebayo, and Terminator 2: Judgment Day’s Robert Patrick is Auggie Smith – these seem to be original characters and not based, as far as we know, on current or past DC characters..

Gunn wrote the series during lockdown and will direct several episodes of the HBO Max series which is due in 2021.
