Kathleen Kennedy confirms that Donald Glover’s Lando series is still coming

April 8th, 2023 by Marc Comments

We’ve been waiting for an update on the Lando series for a long time, ever since it was announced in 202o but now we can confirm that it’s still in development and coming at some stage.

The series, which is reportedly set before the events of Solo: A Star Wars story, meaning it will see Donald Glover return as everyone’s favorite rogue, Lando Calrissian (though we’re hoping we’ll see Billy Dee Williams coming back too, perhaps bookending episodes.

but now, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy has put our worries at ease, saying: “I can just tell you it’s still happening, and he’s [Glove] very excited about it.”

This certainly seems to reinforce what Glover himself said recently when asked about the show, saying he’d “love to play Lando again”.

“It just needs to be the right way to do it,” Glover told GQ.

“Now, time is precious. I think everybody’s like, from the past couple years with this pandemic shit, has really had people experience time in a way where they’re like, ‘Well, why am I [doing this]?'”

Glover, as well as being an actor, is also music star Childish Gambino, so yeah, he’s probably flat out with work.

“People kind of realised that their time was valuable. You only get so much. So I am not interested in doing anything that’s just going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy. So it just has to be the right thing, which I think it could be. Lando is definitely somebody I’d like to hang out with.”

And then, confirming what Kennedy said, the star said: “We’re talking about it… That’s as much as I can say without [Lucasfilm President] Kathleen Kennedy hunting me down.”

Hmmmmmmm… I’d imagine there’s an announcement coming soon on this one and I, for one, can’t wait to spend more time with Lando,
