Katie Sackhoff cast in The Mandalorian Season 2 as Bo-Katan

More great news from the world of The Mandalorian season 2 as another cracking piece of casting has been revealed.

Word has come in that Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff has been cast in the second season as none other than Bo-Katan Kryze, the badass female Mandalorian warrior from Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels.

We learned last night that season 2 will not be delayed because of that damned virus (here) and it seems Sackhoff filmed her role in February before the world locked down.

Sackhoff has made a career out of being a tough, beautiful woman with her role as Starbuck in BSG but she has gone on to star in Riddick, The Flash and more, so she’s definitely a fan favourite here at FTN HQ.

B-Katan was a lieutenant on Death Watch on Mandalore, answering only to Pre Vizla, the owner of the Darksaber but once Darth Maul took over Death Watch and took the Darksaber for himself (the Darksaber appeared at the end of season 1 of The Mandalorian), Bo-Katan left the Death Watch and recruited the Jedi and Ahsoka Tano to come to Mandalore and take it back from Maul.

So it’s obvious how she, Ahsoka, Sabine and Captain Rex could all fit into the story of The Mandalorian, since in Rebels Sabine Wren passed the Darksaber to Katan… so it’s clear that The Mandalorian aims to explain why Moff Gideon had the weapon in season one.

It really seems that Dave Filoni, showrunner on Clone Wars and Rebels and a major creative force on The Mandalorian, has set out a story that he aims to wrap, or at least keep telling, in The Mandalorian.

This is awesome news and it’s going to be very, very exciting seeing all the Mandos we know and love coming together… I’m just wondering where Boba Fett fits into all this.

The Mandalorian Season 2 is coming in October… let me know how excited you all are.
