Kevin Conroy wants to do a live-action Batman Beyond series…

Spoilers for the just-aired Crisis On Infinity Earths (Parts 1-3) so you’ve been warned.

Anyone, like us, who has been enjoying the Crisis event on the Arrowverse, is probably still buzzing over one of the most exciting parts… the inclusion of the voice of Batman: The Animated Series star Kevin Conroy as a (finally!) live-action version of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

In the event Conroy played a dark version of the character from Earth-99 who had gone on a murderous damage killing his enemies and also Superman himself, so while he’s not the Arrowverse’s main Batman, he’s certainly – from being recognised by Batgirl – the spitting image of the main hero on the core Arrowverse Earth-1.

Now, a while back we heard rumours that Conroy may be set to appear in The CW’s Arrowverse and a more permanent Batman/Bruce Wayne.

We know in Batwoman Batman has been missing for several years and no-one knows where he went. We also know that next year we’re getting a new Arrowverse series with Green Arrow and the Canaries which is the future, we we have pondered if perhaps we could see Conroy joining that show as the Batman Beyond version of the character with a younger Batman, Terry McGinnis, in tow.

Wouldn’t that be cool?

So, why am I writing this? Well…

A fan on Twitter (below) has asked Conroy if he would play that version of Bruce Wayne in future CW adventures (below) and the actor replied: “I would love that!”

Recently the star had said of a possible Batman Beyond live-action series: “Wouldn’t that be awesome? That would be so awesome!

“I was thinking that as I was doing this, that I’m kind of inhabiting Old Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond. He’s not that old — Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond is like 80. He’s not that old in this but he is as limited in his ability to be physical in this. He’s not fully able-bodied. In that sense he’s like Old Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond. And I was using the voice, actually, from Old Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond. I was thinking, it would be great to do that. I would love it.”

And so would we, Kevin.

With all the rumours and possibilities of the Arrowverse growing massively in the coming couple of years (here) I could easily see Conroy being (re)introduced in the Canaries show and then that being a backdoor pilot for a Batman Beyond-esque show.

It’s all rumour and speculation for now… but wouldn’t it be cool?

Sound off in all the usual places.

Crisis on Infinite Earths concludes on January 14th, 2020.
