We all know by now that the one corner of Hollywood that seems to be doing just fine in the current lockdown is animation with Marvel’s What If…? series still being developed and now a new Transformers animated movie is being fast-tracked.
Well now, Nerd legend Kevin Smith looks se to to return to one of his funnest endeavours, Clerks: The Animated Series.
In a new interview (below) Smith talks about lots of stuff to do with his cinematic universe, The Viewaskewniverse, and discusses his on again/off again Mallrats sequel, his currently being written script for Clerks III but he also talked about a project that we previously hadn’t been aware of… he’s trying to bring back the delicioulsycrazt Clerks: The Animated Series.
Nootch.
Discussing how animated stuff can still be produced in lockdown, he says: “So that’s one of the reasons we’re gonna try to go pitch rebooting the Clerks cartoon, man, cause we can just – that’s turnkey – we got all the designs done. We just… make new episodes. Let’s do it!”
Personally, I loved the short-lived series and would like to see it make a comeback, though I can understand why many weren’t keen on it. I could see this being an online series airing on one of Smith’s channels rather than going to a TV channel like the original.
But whatever it is, I’m always happy to spend more time with Dante and Randall.
What say you all?
