After the news that director Scott Derrickson had stepped down as Doctor Strange And the Multiverse of Madness we figured Marvel/MCU wouldn’t have any more bad news for a while.
Yet, here we are.
Word on the nerd vine is that Disney+’s planned Hawkeye series has now been indefinitely postponed and is no longer on the streaming service’s 2020 production slate.
The series was to star Avengers’ star Jeremy Renner in the title role and Bumblebee star Hailee Seinfeld allegedly set to play the next Hawkeye, Kate Bishop.
Steinfeld has previously cast doubt on this series happening, so this is not entirely unforeseen.
The series was set to film this July but it seems Disney+ has set Ms Marvel to film in April and have started casting both Moonknight and She-Hulk, so it looks like, if true, this is not a spur-of-the-moment decision.
Personally, I’m a big fan of Steinfeld and was looking forward to seeing her join the MCU, but hopefully this isn’t the end of the story for the Avenging archer(s).
What say you all?
