Lord of the Rings has to be one of the biggest names in all or nerdom, whether it’s the books, games or movies there’s just something for everyone. Well, with Amazon dipping its toes into Tolkien’s legend, it should be quite interesting to see what they come up with and now Amazon has given us names for main cast members for the series.
This happens to be a veritable feast of characters from tons of yours – and my – favorite shows, so let’s delve in and take a look at the people taking the journey into Middle Earth.
Confirmed cast members so far include: Robert Aramayo (young Ned Stark, Game of Thrones), Joseph Mawle (Benjen Stark, Game of Thrones), Owain Arthur (35 Diwrnod), Nazanin Boniadi (How I Met Your Mother), Tom Budge (The Pacific), Morfydd Clark (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), Ismael Cruz Cordova (The Mandalorian), Ema Horvath (The Gallows Act II), Markella Kavenagh (Stan’s Romper Stomper), Megan Richards (Wanderlust), Dylan Smith (Into the Badlands), Charlie Vickers (Medici), Daniel Weyman (Gentleman Jack), Maxim Baldry (Skins) and newcomers to the acting world Tyroe Muhafidin and Sophia Nomvete.
A lot of names, right?
We still don’t what roles these people will be playing, however with people like Robert Aramayo, Joseph Mawle and Dylan Smith all having an acting background in combat roles I think we can imagine their roles will certainly have a major impact in the show.
With little information know about the eight episode season other than it’s set in the second age so we can only speculate as to what will be going on, but I hope that they can do Tolkien’s work justice.
