ABC and Marvel are bringing The Inhumans to the small screen and IMAX screens for an 8-part series later this year and they have just cast the third major role
Joining Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as Maximus and Serinda Swan as Medusa will be Lost and Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor Ken Leung as Karnak.
Karnak is Black Bolt’s cousin and closest advisor. His gift is an ability to see the fault in all things — people, plans, structures, everything. He’s Black Bolt’s most ardent supporter and strategist and is often seen as the royal family’s planner and philosopher.
This cast is filling up with an impressive selection of solid talent.
Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb said: “Ken brings both a wisdom and a power to the role that no one else could match. His Karnak will be awesome.”
“Ken Leung has a great natural intelligence that reads clearly and will add depth and complexity to the very complicated character of Karnak,” added executive producer Scott Buck.
With FOX owning X-Men and the very term ‘mutants’, Inhumans is Marvel’s answer to that corner of the MCU.
The Inhumans are a group of super-powered individuals who, like the X-Men, fall on both sides of good and evil. Their story started last season in Agents of SHIELD and they were at one stage set to be a movie in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Whatever happens, this is shaping up well and we’re really looking forward to seeing where it goes.
