We’ve know for a while now that a new Lost in Space series was coming to Netflix (here) and now the show’s most famous character has been cast… Dr Zachary Smith.

Scream 3, Blade Trinity and Cafe Society star Parker Posey has signed on to play the show’s villain although we doubt this time that the character’s name will still be Zachary as, obviously Posey is a female and the character’s only two previous incarnations were both men, most recently played by Gary Oldman in the 1998 guilty pleasure movie.

The show is expected to arrive in 2018 and: “takes its cues from the original CBS series, revolving around the Robinson family, which is forced to come together in a time of crisis. Stranded light years from their intended destination, the Robinsons find themselves battling a strange new alien environment and their own personal demons. Posey will play Dr. Smith.”

It’s certainly an interesting having Posey in the role but we can definitely see her pulling off the over-the-top villainy of the character.

What do you think?
