So, if there’s something that The CW’s Arroverse shows are well known for at this stage, it’s their annual crossovers which, even for those who don’t like the shows, tend to be big, fun events with the last one in 2019/2020 being Crisis on Infinite Earths which pretty much encompassed every bit of DC media to ever previously exist.
However, with that damned virus, this year was without a crossover, although it seems that next year the crossover event will be back… just don’t call it a crossover.
Network chairman and CEO, Mark Pedowitz, says the next season of The Flash will kick off with characters from across the Arrowverse coming onto the show: “The idea for The Flash is [showrunner] Eric Wallace and [executive producer Greg Berlanti] have come together, and we’re talking about other superheroes from the CW-verse that will come together in each individual episode.”
He went on to add, bafflingly: “It will not quite be a crossover, but it will have a crossover-type feel with the introduction of all these characters.”
As for who will appear? Well, “there are a couple feelers out to a couple of the actors, but we have no definitives yet,” he added.
However, this isn’t the only bit of Arrowverse news out there right now.
We’re sure you all remember Beebo, the big blue cuddly toy who saves the world in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow a couple of seasons back? He was a god worshipped by vikings at one point?
No? Well, there’s a picture of him to the left.
Anyway, it seems that fans of the character – of which I’m assured there are many – have a Christmas treat coming this year.
In the recent announcement of upcoming shows, The CW has revealed that Beebo Saves Christmas will happen this year.
It will be an hour-long animated seasonal special narrated by former Legends star Victor Garber and we even have the full synopsis:
In the all-new animated one-hour special Beebo Saves Christmas, everyone’s favorite fuzzy toy turned furry god will once again be a hero as he hopes to save Christmas. When Sprinkles, an efficiency-obsessed elf, decides that Christmas would run better without Santa Claus, Beebo and his friends travel to the North Pole to help discover what truly makes Christmas meaningful.
Starring Ben Diskin as the voice of Beebo, Kimiko Glenn as the voice of Tweebo, Yvette Nicole Brown as the voice of Turbo, Keith Ferguson as the voice of Fleabo, Chris Kattan as the voice of Sprinkles, Ernie Hudson as the voice of Santa and Victor Garber as the narrator.
Beebo Saves Christmas is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and is written by Matt Maala and Kevin Shinick and executive produced by Sam Register, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, Phil Klemmer, Grainne Godfree, Marc Guggenheim and Keto Shimizu.
So, I must admit, I didn’t think I’d be writing about Beebo tonight. No, I didn’t.
Anyway, a non-crossover and a big blue teddy both coming soon from The CW.
Beebo Saves Christmas will debut later this year.
