New cast member links Agent Carter to Iron Man 2 in a very cool way…

November 7th, 2014 by Marc Comments

Agent Carter’s latest cast member, Costa Ronin – star of The Americans – plays a character that we’ve already met as a much older man in Iron Man 2…

Can you tell who he is yet?

Yes, he’ll play Anton Venko, father of Ivan Venko (Mickey Rourke) AKA Whiplash. You may remember we met actor Evgeniy Lazarev as Anton at the start of IM2 and it was his death and belief that Howard Stark cheated him out of what was rightfully his that lead to the creation of Whiplash…

Jeph Leob, Head of Television at Marvel said: “Fans have wanted to learn more about Anton Vanko since he was first mentioned in ‘Iron Man 2′ and we’re happy to deliver with Costa’s terrific performance in ‘Marvel’s Agents Carter.’”

Carter arrives in January 2015…

Peggy Carter returns to “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” with a special guest appearance in the second season’s eighth episode, plus Grant Ward and his Senator brother “enjoy” a family reunion!

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
