Doctor Who Series 8 Iconic

According to Doctor Who TV, the 12th Doctor himself Peter Capaldi will be in attendance at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

Joining the intrepid Time Lord will be Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) Michelle Gomez (Missy), showrunner Steven Moffat and executive producer Brian Minchin.  It seems that Capaldi is very excited to be embracing this side of the show, saying ‘Tales of San Diego Comic-Con are told in awe on every set around the known fantasy/sci-fi production world. It’s become a fabled kingdom. One I am thrilled to find myself heading for. And to appear in the legendary Hall H is a further twist to the cosplay and comic madness I may never recover from.’

Ever since taking on the role in August 2014, Capaldi has been known to treat fans of the sci-fi series with great respect, always making time during filming to sign autographs and pose for pictures in between takes.  Exactly what the Doctor Who panel will involve this year is anyones guess, but with Coleman and Gomez in attendance its not beyond the realm of impossibility that we could see a clip from the upcoming series 9 premier The Magician’s Apprentice/The Witch’s Familiar.

And speaking of Doctor Who, the first ever RadioTimes Festival will be held at The Green at Hampton Court, and in attendance will be none-other than former showrunner Russell T. Davies!  The event runs from the 24th to the 27th of September.

Doctor Who returns to BBC 1 later in the year.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
