When Disney took control of Lucasfilm they also obtained the rights to Willow. Although there has been no official word from Disney, rumours of a Willow sequel have recently begun to circulate.

Ron Howard was recently interviewed by Nerdist and asked about the possibility of a Willow TV series: “Warwick Davis is such a great guy, who played Willow.” Howard explained “He remains a close friend, and I’m always rooting for it to become like a TV series or something because he’s such a talented guy. He’s been in so many wonderful fantasy movies since then, and comedies and other things. I know I’d like to watch a Willow television show.”

It’s of course unclear as to whether a Willow TV series is even being considered by Disney, but if it is they will have to bring back Warwick Davis.

Released in 1988, Willow is a fantasy film that focuses around the young dwarf Willow (Warwick Davis) and his quest to save a small baby from an evil queen.
