I openly admit I wasn’t a fan of True Detective Season 1. While I could appreciate the the performances, direction and look of the show, I felt it was overblown and self-indulgent BUT I also appreciate it has a massive following and everything’s not for everyone, right?
Well it seems that Brad Pitt is considering a role in the second season. It is unlikely at this stage that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson will return as the idea is seemingly a new cast and story each series.
Now, we are treating this as a RUMOUR only because the original source is the UK Red top The Daily Star, which is, let’s be honest, not very trustworthy. But let’s run with it as speculation only: “Brad is already part of the HBO family and if commitments allow he will be part of the second season of True Detective. The quality of the scripts means the biggest A-listers in the world want the role,” they report.
They say Pitt is currently working out a deal with HBO and, if scheduling allows it, he really wants to be in it.
No word if director Cary Fukunaga will return.
