Well, this would be a really nerdy reason to give thanks…

It seems that rumours abound that more exciting awesomeness is coming to the DC TV universe.

Firstly, it’s heard on the nerd vine that Grant Gustin, The Flash himself, will be appearing in the Supergirl TV series in May next year.

This excites us so much, especially after the mention of ‘Men of Steel’ (Supergirl’s cousin, Superman, who is now an ongoing character in the series (here)) in the recent Legends of Tomorrow trailer (here).

And who could forget the great photos of the two characters just a few short months ago in Variety… (Continues after pic)

And speaking of Legends of Tomorrow, there are more rumours that Constantine has, essentially, been saved. After his triumphant appearance in Arrow just a few weeks ago (read our review here), it now seems that Matt Ryan’s Constantine will find himself in next year’s series of Legends of Tomorrow.

The plan, so goes the rumour, is that every year there is a series of Legends of Tomorrow and every year it will feature a different team.

This would be awesome for so many reasons… it would mean that the DC universe could continue to expand and will have the ability to introduce all manner of weird and wonderful characters each and every year. With a universe of different worlds, the supernatural, time travel and aliens, there is nothing that DC can’t do.

And we couldn’t love it more.

Now, can we just tie Gotham in too, please? That would be great…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
