It looks like Disney+ may be looking at developing a new Star Wars live-action series that skews more towards the younger generation of fans – and that’s fine by us. And yes, we’ll be watching too.
But it seems that the series, which this new rumour suggests is ‘Stranger Things in space’ will take place during the massive Star Wars books/comics series The High Republic era.
I’ve just started the series and so far, I’m really liking it – despite a lot of negativity towards it before release – and will be sticking with it if it maintains this level of fun and intrigue.
Anyway…
Word is, the series, unlike the current and even upcoming ones, will have a younger cast of characters, mostly teen and pre-teen and it will be guided by the team behind the High Republic comics and books.
We know that Leslye Headland’s upcoming Acolyte series will be set at the end of the High Republic and will focus on the returning of the Sith, leading to the Star Wars we know and love today, so this is all pretty exciting as nearly all the Star Wars we know is set in the same 40 or 50-year-period, so this will go back centuries and tell fresh new tales.
Yes, we’re also hearing an animated series will be produced too to go alongside all this.
We’re hearing Kathleen Kennedy is a big fan of this ear and the stories set therein, so it’s very likely we will be seeing more stuff in the near future.
Hey, if it’s as good as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, then we’re all the way in for it.
Thoughts?
