All the way from SDCC we have the first look at the upcoming Marvel animated series, I Am Groot.
A series of five shorts from the mind of James Gunn, the series, Gunn warned a few weeks ago, isn’t necessarily canon to the rest of the MCU, saying: “They are animated shorts so not necessarily part of the Guardians saga.
“They’re canon to themselves, I’d think.”
Nonetheless, the animation looks gorgeous and, if nothing else, it’s going to be fun to see Groot on his homeworld and what that’s like. Probably. We’re still not sure.
UPDATE: There will be a further five shorts released later this year.
The series hits Disney+ on August 10th.
