Sherlock series 4 to be “Devastating” according to Steven Moffat

August 26th, 2014 by Marc Comments

After bagging three awards at last nights Emmys, you’d think Sherlock co-creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss would want to play it safe with the next series.  Keep things the same.  Not have any unexpected turns.  But oh no…

Apparently the plot for the next series was so devastating that even the cast were thrown.

“We have a plan to top it,” Moffat revealed backstage at the Emmys, “Actually, I do think our plan is devastating.mWe practically reduced our cast to tears by telling them the plan. Honestly, Mark [Gatiss] and myself are so excited with what we’ve got coming up, probably more excited than we’ve ever been about Sherlock… honestly, I think we can [top the last season].”

With arch nemesis Moriarty seemingly making a return from beyond the grave, who knows what trauma the cast of the BBC drama will have to endure?  But at least one thing is for sure – the series won’t be ending any time soon.

“What’s happening with Sherlock is unusual,” said Moffat. “We will keep coming back to it.”

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife.
