While the world of Stranger Things is far from done with season 5 on the way and spinoffs, anime and more in development, it seems that creators the Duffer brothers have begun to move ahead with their next project at Netflix.
The duo are executive producing a new supernatural series for the streamer called The Boroughs, written and created by The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance’s Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews.
The series has a fantastic line-up with Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman all stepping up as the stars of the new series which Netflix describes as: A supernatural mystery series from The Duffer Brothers, Jeffrey Addiss, and Will Matthews. In a retirement community, a group of unlikely heroes band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don’t have: time.

On the new series, the Duffers said: “While the heroes in The Boroughs have a few more years on them than the kids from Stranger Things, they are a similarly lovable bunch of misfits, and we can’t wait for you to join them on an adventure that is at turns scary, funny, and deeply touching.”
Even if it wasn’t from the Duffers, that cast would already have us excited here but given that they will be producing, then we’re even more excited to see what lies in store for us.
There are no further details or even a release date for the show yet but we’ll keep you posted as we get the details.
