Strangers Things Season two to up the horror and character development

May 4th, 2017 by Marc Comments

One of our favourite shows last year was without question Stranger Things – the perfect balance of scares, story, nostalgia and pure awesomeness.

But now, with Season 2 lurking before its release at Halloween, it looks like it is set to give us more of the same. With added scares.

According to Finn Wolfman who plays Mike in the show, the scare ante is set to be upped: “I think this season will be a lot [darker]. A lot more horror oriented. I think people are going to like it more than the first season.”

We watched Season One as a family and the scares, while intense, were pretty well handled for our kids (except Barb’s head… ) so I genuinely hope it doesn’t cross the line too far this year.

Talking more about the focus of the season, Wolfman added: “The great thing about this season is you get to see insights into each character on their own. You’re going to see a lot more into the lives of how the characters are coping with what’s been going on…. They’re all very emotionally scarred. They feel alone because their best friend is back and he’s not acting like their best friend anymore. He’s changed.”

Whatever happens we have high expectations and hopes for season two. Just another reason Halloween can’t get here quick enough.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
