The Ahsoka series has finally found its Ezra Bridger

September 16th, 2022 by Marc Comments

It looks like the upcoming Ahsoka series has found its Ezra Bridger.

Ezra is a character, a young Jedi, who we first meet in Star Wars: Rebels and who was lost in space at the end of that series with big Star Wars villain Grand Admiral Thrawn. At the end of Rebels we saw Ahsoka and Mandalorian Sabine Wren set out to find Ezra – and Thrawn – and bring them home.

That’s where we expect the Ahsoka series, starring Rosario Dawson in the title role with Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing Sabine, to pick up ever since we learned in The Mandalorian Season 2 that Ahsoka was looking for Thrawn… therefore she must also be seeking Ezra.

And now we know who will be playing the not so young now Jedi.

Red 11 star Eman Esfandi is the man who would be Jedi.

While I must admit I’m not familiar with his work, he certainly has the looks and given how great a job Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are doing with casting all across the Star Wars universe, I’m willing to bet he’s going to be  perfect Ezra.

Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson along with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno and Natasha Liu Bordizzo. Hayden Christensen reprises his role as Anakin Skywalker and Ray Stevenson plays a mystery villain.

Former fan favourite, Aladdin star Mena Massoud, took to social media to gracefully accept that, alas, he wasn’t to be a Jedi this time, writing: “Glad the rumors will stop now. Never really had a fair shot at it unfortunately (1 self-tape months ago) but just wasn’t meant for me I guess.

“Can’t deny the dude looks exactly like Ezra. Hope it’s done justice!”

Fair play, fella, the Force is strong with you.

We’re really excited to see Ahsoka and the return of all the great Rebels characters.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
