Well, we discussed a few days ago how, with the confirmation that Superman and Lois isn’t part of the Arrowverse that was (here), The Flash is the last of the once massive DC TV Universe.

And, that’s now come to an end as The Flash, as many of guessed it was, has officially begun filming on its final season as filming on Season 9 is set to kick off next month.

Series executive producer and showrunner Eric Wallace said: “Nine seasons! Nine years of saving Central City while taking audiences on an emotional journey full of heart, humor, and spectacle.

“And now Barry Allen has reached the starting gate for his last race. So many amazing people have given their talents, time, and love to bring this wonderful show to life each week. So, as we get ready to honor the show’s incredible legacy with our exciting final chapter, I want to say thank you to our phenomenal cast, writers, producers, and crew over the years who helped make ‘The Flash’ such an unforgettable experience for audiences around the world.”

The Arrowverse over the course of elevn years has had Flash, Arrow, Superman & Lois (technically), Supergirl, Black Lightning, Legends of Tomorrow, Star Girl, Batwoman, Constantine and several animated shorts and Naomi and when it put out its last big event, Crisis on Infinite Earths a couple of years ago, it also encompassed other shows, animated worlds, the movies… honestly, it was – and still might be – bigger than the MCU.

It’s sad to see it go but it’s a hell of an accomplishment.

It’s no lie to say that the whole universe had fallen in quality over the last few years but when it was at its height, The Arrowverse was one of our favoutire things on TV an gave us shows to look forward to on an almost nightly basis.

Godspeed, Flash…

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
