The Flash TV series adds another two big comic characters

September 8th, 2014 by Marc Comments

It looks like the DC Universe minig is continuing with The Flash TV series taking more familiar faces and translating them onto our TV screens. And that’s just awesome.

Darkhorizons are reporting that executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg been talking about the other Flash, Wally West, appearing in the show which features Barry Allen as The Flash: “In the New 52 rebooted comic line, Wally West was changed from an older Caucasian male to a younger African-American man,” says the site.

Berlanti says that they’re following that idea: “We made [the] Wests African-American so that we could head in that direction.”

They go on to report that the “electricity-wielding metahuman” Farooq/Blackout will appear in the seventh episode “seeking vengeance against Barry’s mentor Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh).”

It’s interesting to note that Blackout was first introduced in the Flashpoint event which led to DC’s New 52 reboot. It looks like the Flashpoint story will be a big part of Barry’s story in the series…

The Flash will premiere on October 7th.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
