Things look bleak for the future of Constantine as NBC list renewed shows

It looks like, as feared, John Constantine is in real trouble at NBC.

With Constantine in trouble since last November when NBC moved it to a 8pm slot on Friday nights (from 10pm) to try to improve ratings, we’ve really been hoping that the massive show of support online might be enough to show the studio that the show really has a fan base. The show truly has gone from strength to strength and is a highlight of the week.

But it looks like, if early indicators are true, it has failed.

NBC has released a press release of their returning shows for next season including he Black List, Grimm, and Law and Order but alas, Constantine was noticeable by his absence.

Now Comicbook has pointed out that the release did seem more concerned with assuring folks that their biggest shows would return and Constantine would not necessarily have been on there anyway.

They also point out that, with the first season concluding on February 13th [very apt, really], the studio may want to wait until it’s finished to decide what they are doing.

But it doesn’t look good…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
