We knew it was coming, but it seems the Titan series over at DC Universe’s streaming service has cast its Deathstroke AKA Slade Wilson for season 2.
Sadly though it’s neither Arrow’s Manu Bennett or Justice League’s Joe Manganiello but rather newcomer to the role, Esai Morales.
Deathstroke is of course a major bad-ass assassin in the DC comics and was originally created as an enemy of the Teen Titans, so his appearance was predictable.
According to the producers: “Slade Wilson is known for being DC’s deadliest assassin. While serving his country, Slade became an elite soldier before government testing enhanced his physiology to near superhuman levels, putting him on a path of darkness and revenge. To his family, Slade is a father and husband, but to the rest of the world, he is feared by many as the infamous Deathstroke; selling his services to the highest bidder as the ruthless assassin that never gives up and never misses.”
Actor Morales starred in La Bamba in 1985 – Wilson is not a young man – and has since appeared in movies such as Bad Boys and Fast Food Nation.
While we love Bennett in the Arrowverse, we never really expected him to appear in this show as Wilson – though it would have blown our minds if he had, but Morales has the acting chops and he certainly has the look for the character.
Honestly, we can’t wait.
