It’s episodes like “Many Heads, One Tail” that makes me really love Agents of Shield. Cause when this show works? It WORKS!!!!
I’m going to keep it short and sweet in this review because the greatness speaks for itself. Let’s start out with Ward, who is still my favorite character by far, and his actions here just solidified it to an extreme level. His opening fight scene, the plane take down “thank you for flying safely”, his torturing the Hydra guys and Andrew, it was magnificent. And now that he is on board with Mallick? Oh the fun we will have.
Speaking of fun, the Shield crew got to infiltrate the ATCU, and it was a blast to watch. From Bobbi and Hunters infiltration, to May’s chat with Lincoln, and the “truth” about the ATCU, it was great. All the while, Coulson and Rosalind had some incredibly powerful scenes, as they each tried to show each other up in order to figure out the truth about what was what, and who was who. It was great seeing how they each felt betrayed by the other, only to figure out that they had both been betrayed by someone in the shadows.
Speaking of “betrayed’ how about Fitz and Simmons! I can’t tell you how much I loved that scene with them arguing about why they couldn’t be together. Simmons was in love with two men, while Fitz has always loved her, only for them to always be separated by disaster or another. Like Fitz said, “they’re cursed”. I blame the writers for this curse, especially the Will twist, but hey, can’t complain about that forever…actually I could but I won’t.
The reveal that Hydra was behind the monolith and the monster on the other planet was fascinating, and that it is an Inhuman is an intriguing plotline I can’t wait to see unfold. With alliances now forming, Agents of Shield is on fire, and I hear that big things are coming up very, very, soon…
