Wait, Gillian Anderson has confirmed a certain big part of The X-Files mythology will NOT be in the new series?

Well, this is interesting… there’s certain things that go together: snad and sea, sugar and spice, tea and milk… and The X-Files and aliens.

Although it looks like this new series will be missing that part if Scully herself, Gillian Anderson is to be believed.

Talking to The Sun newspaper, the actress was asked about the appearance of little green men in 2016 and she said: “Will there be aliens in it? No, no aliens this year, sorry. It will be scary. I hope it will be good.”

It’s not all bat though as she added: “There’ll be some laughs and I think overall, even though I haven’t seen any of it, I’m most pleased with the fact it feels like what we used to deliver.”

Does the absence of aliens taint the anticipation at all? Let us know if this is inconsequential or a game changer.

The X-Files returns in January with Anderson, David Duchovny,  Mitch Pileggi’s  Skinner, Joel McHale and others.
