Holy crap. I mean, really… holy crap.
So, you’ll know we’ve been posting a lot of stuff about who all from the past of the DC Universe on big and small screen are appearing in this years big Arrowverse event at The CW.
But tonight, it looks like one of the biggest expanded universe characters of all may be in it.
So, Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim is great at interacting with the fans on Twitter and a fan challenged him to ge Nicholas Cage as Superman.
In 1996 Cage was set to star in Tim Burton’s The Death of Superman movie (which would even have featured an appearance from Batman!) and, while the movie never happened, it has become the stuff of legend among fans who still to this day would love to see how Cage would have delivered The Man of Steel.
So this is what happened: In the original post, Guggenheim was challenged to have Cage’s Superman in the crossover…
@mguggenheim do it you coward (not really, you’re awesome)! #CrisisOnInfiniteEarths pic.twitter.com/CDwcGUlFaU

In the reply, Guggenheim cryptical teased:
What makes you think we didn’t reach out… 😜

The thing is, while Guggenheim is PROBABLY kidding, Cage played Superman in last year’s Teen Titans Go! To The Movies and he does make a lot of direct to video stuff these days so it’s not totally out of the question that they could get him – even for a brief appearance.
If this happens, I swear I’ll lose my s#@t!
