The Walking Dead

Very few things in television are guaranteed. Not even when they’re based on popular characters or shows. Yet surely, a spinoff from The Walking Dead would get picked up by a network on a dime right? Well…

Gale Anne Hurd, producer of The Walking Dead and its spinoff talked in an interview that though the pilot for the spinoff wrapped up on the 6th…“We haven’t been picked up to series yet.”

This is strange, as the return of Walking Dead was going to be big ratings wise without a doubt, and it was. In fact it was record-breaking. As pretty much most of the series has been. So…why hasn’t it been picked up?

There could be numerous logical explanations, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head save for A: problem with the pilot. Or B: Executives want to be cautious and not rush things.

Either way, this is a curious mystery, and hopefully one that’ll get cleared up soon.
