Before we get into the news bit, the BBC have revealed a new poster for next week’s Doctor Who episode and it’s a beautiful throwback to the poster for the 50th anniversary episode The Day of the Doctor (below).

Only this time the Doctor is overshadowed by The Master (Joh Simm) and Missy (Michelle Gomez) rather than his previous incarnations of Matt Smith and David Tennant.

And in related news, next weeks’s episode, which will feature the Mondasian Cybermen in their origin form which hasn’t been seen in almost 50 years and Missy AND The Master… so the Doctor and his friends will have their hands full!

This will be Peter Capaldi’s penultimate appearance as the Doctor as he is set to regenerate in this year’s Christmas episode.

And, to get us excited, here’s to TV Spots for the final two episodes…

Starring Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor, Pearl Mackie’s Bill Potts and Matt Lucas’ Nardole, The Doctor Falls will be the second part of a double story stating with next Saturday’s World Enough and Time, which will also see the return of John Simm’s evil Master alongside his later incarnation Missy (played by Michelle Gomez).

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
