WATCH: First look at Barry Allen in Arrow

December 4th, 2013 by Marc Comments

Well, we’ve been waiting a while for this and it’s finally here… Barry Allen, AKA The Flash, appears in Arrow tonight in the US and on Monday in the UK.

Grant Gustin, previously seen in Glee, plays the role of Allen and will also play him and The Flash in the proposed spin-off TV show next year.

Meanwhile, the  CW have released the clip below called The Scientist, which has Allen appear for the first time. This is from the two-part mid season finale.

According to DarkHorizons, executive producer Greg Berlanti says: “The thing that was important to us was that he really should be a contrast to Oliver and to Stephen (Amell who plays Oliver/Green Arrow). Stephen is the traditional square-jawed, muscle-bound hero. That works really well, because he needs all that. One of the things about Flash is he’s a random guy who gets struck by lightning. He needs the bolt of lightning to be a hero in a way Stephen doesn’t.”

While Allen will only be in these two episodes, Berlanti says you’ll still hear about the character and “about what happened to him in the way that you’re hearing now about Star Labs on the periphery.”

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
