We get our first look at CBS’ new series, Clarice, based in the world of Silence of the Lambs and featuring FBI Agent Clarice Starling.

While Starling was played by Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs, in the new series it’s actress Rebecca Breeds bringing the southern drawl to the woman who hunts monsters.

While the trailer shows very little, it certainly looks like a beautiful series but will it come close to Hannibal? Well, it’s unlikely… but we’ll all know next month.

CBS is taking you back to 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, with brand new sequel series “Clarice,” which is headed to the small screen in exactly one month.

Rebecca Breeds (“Pretty Little Liars”) will star as Clarice Starling. The previously announced cast also includes Michael Cudlitz as Paul Krendler, Lucca de Oliveira as Tomas Esquivel, Kal Penn as Shaan Tripathi, Nick Sandow as Agent Clarke, Devyn Tyler as Ardelia Mapp and Marnee Carpenter as The Silence of the Lambs character Catherine Martin.

Clarice is set in 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. The series is a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling, as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C.

Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice graduated Magna from UVA with a double major in Psych and Criminology. Her bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. Her complex psychological makeup comes from a challenging childhood, and her drive comes from her need to escape the burden of family secrets that have haunted her throughout her life.

Elizabeth Klaviter (“The Resident”) will show-run “Clarice,” working alongside writers/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. Maja Vrvilo directs the pilot.

Silence falls on February 11th.
