Now that we’ve finally got the last full series of Chris Chibnall’s Doctor Who out of the way, you’d think the pain was over… but it’s not.

Yes, coming to our screens on New Year’s Day, Chibnall, who wrote the episode,  will be bringing back the Daleks. Again.

Yes, despite SPOILERS destroying them in last night’s episode, the finale of Flux, SPOILERS END, Chibs is bringing them back for the third time. On New Year’s Day. To fight Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor. This guy really is where ideas go to be tortured, exploited and then to die, isn’t he?

Anyway, on the new special, Chibnall said: “We all need a little romance in our lives around New Year. Less so, Daleks. But Aisling Bea and Adjani Salmon’s characters will have to deal with both in a New Year’s Eve from hell. Together with Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor, it’ll hopefully prove the perfect New Year’s Day tonic.”

Get ready for Eve of the Daleks on New Year’s Day.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Sarah (Aisling Bea) owns and runs ELF storage, and Nick (Adjani Salmon) is a customer who visits his unit every year on New Year’s Eve. This year, however, their night turns out to be a little different than planned as they find themselves joining forces with the Doctor, Dan and Yaz in a fight against the Daleks. The trailer for the special, which aired following the series thirteen finale, finds the cast trapped in ELF storage and stuck in a terrifying time loop with the Daleks. Will the gang manage to avoid extermination and escape the storage facility in time to see out New Year’s Day?

Check out the trailer and poster below and let me know if you’re excited for the New Year’s special… man, I miss the Christmas Day episodes.
