Honestly, we thought this series was not happening anymore but producer and star Laurence Fishburne has tweeted out our first look at the upcoming animated Marvel series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
We first reported on this series in 2019 (here) and haven’t heard anything recently. This is Fishburne’s third major Marvel appearance after Ant-man and the Wasp and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
When we reported it in 2019, we wrote:
Disney Channel has ordered Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, an animated series based on the comic book series.
The series follows 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and her ten-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur who Lunella accidentally released in present-day New York City via a time vortex. The duo protect the city’s Lower East Side.
The series is produced by Lawrence Fishburne: “As an avid comic book fan, I am thrilled to be involved with Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur,” Fishburne said.
And that’s all we have for you at the moment apart from being able to add that it looks great and is coming next summer.
Check out the teaser below and let me know what you think.
“Disney Channel is the perfect platform to explore this pint-sized female African American superhero, and I can’t wait for their audience to enjoy the lighthearted adventures of Lunella and Devil Dinosaur.”
