This is actually pretty exciting!

A new leaked video from the set of the now-filming Sandman series has given us our first look at star Tom Sturridge as Morpheus.

While the footage isn’t showing too much spoilerific stuff, it’s very cool to finally see Morpheus finally come alive on screen after it being in development hell as a movie and/or series for years.

Check out the video below and don’t forget to let me know what you think and if you’re excited to see Neil Gaiman’s iconic comic finally come to life.

Check out the show’s full cast here.

A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.
The series stars Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Jenna Coleman, Joely Richardson, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry and Patton Oswalt.

Wonder Woman co-writer Allan Heinberg serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer on Sandman. In addition to their duties as writers, Neil Gaiman and David S. Goyer are also on board as executive producers.

UPDATE:

An image of actress Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death has also appeared:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
