Ah, yes, now this brought a smile to my face.
As a kid my first introduction to Doctor Who was during the McCoy years and, yes, Ace, played by Sophie Aldred, was my all-time favourite companions and, yes, I had a bit of a crush on here.
And while the actress has always maintained her love for the character and in both the novels and the Big Finish audio adventures, her leaving the role in 1989 was more or less the last official sighting of her.
But now she’s back.
The 26th Series of the classic years is getting released on December 23rd and it’s McCoy and Aldred’s time to shine again, but the actress has now filmed a cool new tease for the collection.
Returning to the role, Aldred tells us as Ace that the Doctor left her to look after the earth while running A Charitable Earth (I see what they did there), all the while she has waited for the return of her Doctor.
A return that seems imminent… in the trailer at least.
Now, have the duo filmed more than this? I’ve idea, but I’ll be waiting with baited breath to find out.
