We have a trailer for DC’s newest upcoming series, Krypton.
The series will be a prequel to the Superman stories, set two generations before the demise of the planet and the sending of Kal-El.
The show “will follow Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos”.
Bill McGoldrick, Executive Vice President of Scripted Content at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment said:“Krypton is one of the most iconic stories in the comic book universe. In the talented hands of David S. Goyer and the DC Entertainment/Warner Horizon Television team, this exciting Syfy project will take viewers back to Superman’s home to show how the timeless legend began.”
We’re not sure what to make of this and, in fairness, fully expect it, no matter what the setting, to be a completely independent series that will have few – if any – ties to the DC TV or movie universe.
