Couple of cool things for fans of Amazon Prime’s The Boys today.

First up, we have a cool short, Butcher, featuring Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher in the lead up to Season 2 and where he got that rather awesome tracksuit. The short was made from footage not used in the main series, so it’s true to the show in tone and feel. We’re led to believe there may be more of these, but there’s only two weeks of The Boys season 2 left, so they’d need to hurry if there is.

Check out the short at the bottom of the page.

Next up, is a big bit of news as it seems that The Boys will be joined by a sister series soon enough.

The new show is “set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (or “supes”) that is run by Vought International. It is described as an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys.”

Craig Rosenberg is writing the pilot and will serve as showrunner and executive producer – he is a producer on the main show too.

Executive producer Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver will all be on board too.

This week’s episode set up the idea of other supes out there when the boys found a facility full of them, so this makes sense in an in-world way – I just hope it doesn’t dilute the main show. But I trust in these guys, so I have faith.

Word is Season 2 is doing even better for Amazon Prime than season one did, so we should expect Amazon to capitalise on this success.

Butcher: A Short Film, revealing what Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) was up to before reuniting with the rest of the group at the beginning of the season.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
