WATCH: Trailer for My Adventures with Superman brings us a more innocent, old-fashioned Man of Steel [and that’s ok]

June 7th, 2023 by Marc Comments

We have our first trailer for new DC animated series My Adventures with Superman and it looks pretty great.

It has a real golden-age, ‘awe-shucks’ feel smashed up against a Manga look and its nice to see a more innocent Man of Steel back on our screens because, to many of us, that’s who Superman was first – that’s not to say anything against Man of Steel, it’s just that I love both existing.

Witness Clark Kent’s transformation into Superman, Metropolis’s guardian, as he struggles to embrace his destiny.

The series follows Clark as he builds his secret Superman identity and embraces his role as the hero of Metropolis — and perhaps the world. Lois, now growing into a star investigative journalist, takes aspiring photographer Jimmy Olsen under her wing.

All the while, Clark and Lois are falling in love, sharing adventures, taking down bad guys, stumbling over secrets and discovering what it means to be Superman and Lois Lane.

Clark Kent/Superman is voiced by Jack Quaid, Lois Lane is voiced by Alice Lee, Jimmy Olsen is voiced by Ishmel Sahid and Brainiac is voiced by Michael Emerson.

My Adventures With Superman two-episode series premiere airs July 6th at midnight on [adult swim]. Stream next day on Max.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
