The terribly bad, yet completely amazing, Taken films have come to an end. It’s a sad time, indeed. However there is a glimmer of hope. NBC may not know who we are but they certainly know what we want… kind of.
NBC has ordered a Taken TV show and is being produced by Luc Besson, who co-wrote the films.
The show will take place in Brian Mills’ past, before he’s even met his wife and focus on how he acquired those ‘very particular set of skills’ he uses in the films. The series will unfortunately not have Liam Neeson in it and will use a younger actor who is not yet known. It’s unclear who exactly will be ‘taken’ in this film as the short list of candidates is now even shorter.
There is very little known about Bryan Mills’ past. One thing I would expect to see is his exploits in France, this was a big part of the first film and created an uneasy friendship between him and Jean-Claude. There is also that torture scene with the electricity; it’s a small reference to his past that I hope will make an appearance too.
It’s unknown when the expected release is as pre-production has barely started. What I will say though is that this is one of those shows that could be completely amazing or terribly bad.
