The glasses, the gold necklace, the ‘tache… can it be?! Is Mike coming back!?!
Readers of a certain age will be very familiar with the British TV series Spaced from Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson. it was directed by Edgar Wright and also starred Nick Frost.
Pegg starred as Tim Bisley and Stevenson as Daisy Steiner, two friends who shared a flat, had wacky adventures and had a will-they-won’t-they thing going on. The show also starred Frost as Mike, Tim’s best friend (shocker), Katy Carmichael as Twist, Mark Heap as Brian and Julia Deakin as Marsha.

And now, like a fever dream that fans have had since the show’s end in 2001 after just two series, Frost has taken to social media, saying that a third series is coming!
The star wrote: Season 3 incoming!!! “How you doing little lady? Mike Watt, TA!”
The series hit in 1999 while I was at university and, like Clerks, it summed up exactly my life at the time – the struggles, the influences, the attitude, Pegg, Stevenson and Wright encapsulated life for me – and many, many others – just as Kevin Smith was doing across the pond.
UPDATED: Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright finally developing a new ‘idea’
We’ve known for a while now that Pegg, Frost and Wright were working on something new together – it’s been a long time since they wrapped The Cornetto Trilogy – but I never dared hope it might be a return to the world of Spaced.
Let’s hope this isn’t some silliness because as a man of a certain age, I really want to know what these characters, also of a certain age, are up to now, especially in a world where Star Wars, Marvel and so many more are dying in their knees… they definitely would have thoughts.
Here’s Frost’s post on Instagram:
