343 Industries in conjunction with Vanguard Games have released Halo: Spartan Assault worldwide as of now for Windows 8 devices.

The game is a new chapter in the Halo universe and it explores the first missions of the Spartan Ops program as you delve deeper into the backstory of the human vs covenant war.

You take control of either Commander Sarah Palmer or Spartan Davis through 25 unique missions that feature unrivaled action and intensity. In the single player campaign you get to compete with your friends on leaderboards and also given the chance to hone your skills with a set of weekly challenges which allow you to collect more than 40 in-game achievements.

If you already have a beefed up Spartan from Halo 4 then you can earn up to 50,000 experience points for your character along with a unique and special emblem, on top of this you will also get exclusive bonus content in the Champions bundle or Bullseye pack that will be available for Halo 4 on August 20th.

The game is now available to download for Windows 8 and Windows 8 phones.
