LEGO held a special preview event in San Diego for their upcoming video game LEGO Dimensions which is launching September 27 2015 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Wii U, LEGO Dimensions will include game play from DC Comics, The Simpsons, Doctor Who, Jurassic World, Scooby-Doo, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie and more.

Doctor Who was the focus on the night, with Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, Michelle Gomez, and Steven Moffat surprising attendees by appearing onstage at the event. Capaldi, Coleman, and Gomez will lend their voices to the game as the Twelfth Doctor, Clara, and Missy, respectively.

The first footage of the game featuring Doctor Who was then shown to the crowd:

All twelve Doctors are playable in the game – and the War Doctor!!! – and when playing as the Doctor if you die you will regenerate into William Hartnell’s First Doctor, before cycling through to Peter Capaldi’s twelfth Doctor again.  Even more visually exciting than that the TARDIS itself will change to represent whichever Doctor you currently are so, for example, if you are the First Doctor the control room will be a black and white representation of his TARDIS.

The official press release stated:

Fans who want more Doctor Who in LEGO Dimensions will be able to purchase theDoctor Who Level Pack which includes an additional mission-based Doctor Who level, along with a LEGO minifigure of the 12th Doctor and LEGO models of the TARDIS and K-9, all playable in the game. When the 12th Doctor is defeated in the level, he returns as the 1st Doctor and then regenerates back up to the 12th Doctor again. The interior of the TARDIS will reflect the corresponding Doctor the player embodies or can be manually selected. There’s even a jukebox inside where players can choose among different versions of the Doctor Who theme music. The TARDIS and K-9 models can each be physically built and then rebuilt twice to do entirely different things in the digital game for massive variety.

If you ever had a dream of seeing the Doctor, Cybermen, and the Daleks (oh ESPECIALLY the Daleks – goosebumps raising in the trailer!) all together in a LEGO game then your dreams are just about to become a reality!
