It looks like Turkey’s Family and Social Policies Ministry is taking action against a popular video game… and it’s not Grand Theft Auto or Gears Of War, it’s the beloved Minecraft.
The government turned its attention to the game after it was pointed out by members of the public that it “encouraged children to behave violently towards enemies and animals in-game, prompting an investigation. A separate report indicates that children who spend time in the game are at risk of ‘social isolation’.”
It should be interesting to see what happens next, given that many have praised the game for its educational and developmental advantages…
