Fifteen years. That’s how long it’s been since Valve graced us with Half-Life 2, a first person shooter in which Gordon Freeman has been awoken to find that the world has been taken over by aliens that call themselves the Combine.
Along with his allies he goes around trying to find a way to return the Earth to what it was. Well Valve have currently announced a new Half-Life in the works, but it’s not Half-Life 3, instead they’re bringing you Half-Life:Alyx, a VR game.
This project has been rumored for a while now via a leaked transcript of a conversation between The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, Valve’s Robin Walker and a third party that went unidentified.
Although the transcript didn’t reveal much, it was shown that it would be a VR game, conformation that it will be Alyx and a release date of March 2020.
Now considering they were right with the name we can assume that they’re probably right with the release date, that being said you won’t have to wait long for more details as all parties involved plan to release a little more information later today including a possible.
Half-Life : Alyx will be the VR flagship game of Steam and will be the standard at which all their next games as measured. After a 15 year wait this better be good. Stay tuned for more news and stay nerdy folks.
