WATCH: Anthony Daniels is back as C3PO for Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge

September 16th, 2020 by Marc Comments

We all thought that Anthony Daniels had finally thrown in the towel as C3PO after last year’s The Rise of Skywalker, but it seems that no, the star has some more story to tell in the armour yet.

Daniels returns as the world’s favourite protocol droid in Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge, a new virtual reality experience from ILMxLab.

“Along with the joy of working with the super-talented team at ILMxLAB, I am so thrilled to bring C-3PO to life again in this fascinating dimension,” Daniels said.

“It may be virtual reality, but believe me, reality will quickly take over as players personally interact with C-3PO right in the middle of the action. I hope fans will be as amazed as I am.”

ILMxLAB also announced that Yoda will be in the game in a sequence called “Seezelslak’s legendary tales, which will transport players to different eras in the Star Wars galaxy.

“You’ll play as a droid repair technician who crash lands on Batuu after a pirate attack. In typical Star Wars fashion, you’ll quickly get swept up into a grand adventure on the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost.”

ILMxLAB reveals new gameplay and characters coming to @Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, coming this holiday season to @Oculus Quest.

In Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll play as a droid repair technician who crash lands on Batuu after a pirate attack. In typical Star Wars fashion, you’ll quickly get swept up into a grand adventure on the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost.

You can converse with Seezelslak (Bobby Moynihan) in his cantina and be transported to other places and times in the Star Wars galaxy through his legendary tales. Or, you can receive important missions to complete in the wilds of Batuu, encountering new and iconic characters along the way, like the pirate Tara Rashin (Debra Wilson).

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
