Images have appeared online revealing some interesting new details from the set of Thor: Ragnarok.
The images (below), which were from Mark Ruffalo’s last day of filming, show him transforming from Bruce Banner into Hulk on Thor’s homeworld, Asgaard. Well, without vidual effects.
They also reveal that Hulk is wearing his Planet Hulk armour during the scene and that there’s a quinjet on set too. More on that in a minute.
Before we get tot he images, we’re also hearing that the third movie in the Thor series could see the debut on a very interesting race, the Cotati.
Who?
Well, Comicbook (via MCU Exchange) had the skinny on this and put it more eloquently than we could:
The Cotati are an alien race with telepathic abilities, resembling plants or trees. They originally came from the planet Hala, sharing their homeworld with the Kree. But a hundred millenia ago, the Skrulls showed up wanting to share their advanced knowledge and technology, but there was a catch. They only wanted to bestow such gifts to one of the species, so they had the Cotati and the Kree compete against each other to see which race was worthy. Long story short: The Cotati won, but like a bunch of sore losers, the Kree killed the Skrull ambassador and his crew, seized their starship and made its technology their own.
With their new power, the Kree began an eon-long war with the Skrulls, and they tried to eradicate the Cotati. They almost succeeded, but the Cotati hung in there, thanks in large part to a peaceful sect of the Kree, known as the Priests of Pama. When the priests got booted from Hala, they took the Cotati with them. Along their journey, they went to Earth and eventually found a new planet to call home: Tamal.
They go on to point out that the Cotati are connected to the character of Mantic who is debuting in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, played by Pom Klementieff.
In the comics “the Cotati prophesied that the union of the perfect human and perfect planet would result in the perfect child. They believe that Mantis is the perfect human, and they help raise and train her.”
given the span of Ragnarok and the fact that the Marvel movies do lead into each other so well, we reckon this is all a safe bet.
Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, and it stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karl Urban (Skurge), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), with Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster) and Cate Blanchett (Hela). And Thor: Ragnarok is set to open in theaters on November 3, 2017.

And if you look closely you can see Hulk in his armour. Not see it, ok, here:

The image below interestingly shows an Avengers Quinjet and we have to suspect that this is the same one that we saw Banner in at the end of Age of Ultron and that eventually leads him to the Planet Sakaar where he will become a champion in the gladiator arenas before meeting up with his old friend (?) Thor. Probably.
