Paramount Pictures have recently acquired the rights to make a film of Rob Liefeld and Cathy Christian’s Avengelyne.
Deadline have announced that Akiva Goldsmith is set to produce the film, and is also likely the possible director too for the movie described as “‘John Wick’ with a fallen angel”.
Created in 1995, Liefield and Christians’s Avengelyn, follows the story of Avengelyn, a powerful angel from Heaven’s Warhost. After being convinced to question God, Avengelyn was banished to live as a mortal. Despite this punishment, and the loss of most of her powers, she began a quest to fight demons she found on Earth.
Leifeld previously announced plans to develop the film with MMA fighter Gina Carano, although whether she will be cast as Avengelyn is not yet known.
