FIRST LOOK: Here’s Beatles star Paul McCartney as a pirate in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

From a Beatle to a Pirate? Paul McCartney has a role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

The musician shared the image above on his Twitter page (below) and set the internet abuzz.

While there’s nothing confirmed about his role yet, the IMDB has him listed as Jail Guard 2. His part was filmed after the bulk of the movie was completed, although word on the street is that it’s a big set piece built specifically around the Beatles star.

He isn’t the first musical mega star to join the franchise as fans will recall that Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards played Jack Sparrow’s father, Captain Teague in Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s Endand Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow, with Geoffrey Rush also back as Captain Hector Barbossa. Javier Bardem joins the franchise as the film’s main villain, Captain Armando Salazar, while Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner will return after an absence in 2011’s On Stranger Tides. Kaya Scodelario will play Carina Smyth, a brand new character.

Dead Men Tell No Tales is released on May 26.
