Well we’ve known for a while that the GI Joe movies we’re likely getting a reboot (here) and that a Hasbro Cinematic Universe was looking more and more likely (here).
And now it looks like the wheels are starting to turn and, despite the absolute mess that was the last Transformers movie, we’re pretty damned excited.
Paramount and Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures have revealed the release date for the first three movies to kick off the universe (we’re guessing that Transformers: The Last Knight, which was meant to be the beginning of the new universe, is no longer the starting point, although we are only speculating so far).
So the first three movies are:
G.I. JOE (March 27, 2020)
Micronauts (Oct. 16, 2020)
Dungeons and Dragons (July 23, 2021)
And also an untitled Hasbro event film which will arrive on Oct. 1, 2021.
On top of this we still have ROM, Visionaries and – most exciting of all – MASK (Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand) movies to come.
Hopefully it is handled better than Universal’s recent Dark Universe because this could be a truly epic, fan pleasing universe and we’re totally in.
